1. Introduction
Welcome to Meridian. These services are provided by the Meridian Association, a blockchain-native Swiss Association created through smart contract multi-signature transaction with cryptographic birth certificate at smart contract address: 0x9F586C59EF32456Af313780C81380B9fC698f18F. The association has its registered seat in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland. Meridian provides x402 payment verification and settlement services for developers and AI agents. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Definitions
Service
The Meridian Protocol platform, including x402 payment verification APIs, settlement services, developer portal, and related infrastructure.
User/Developer
Any individual, organization, or AI agent that accesses or uses the Service through our APIs or interfaces.
Payment Data
Transaction information including payment signatures, blockchain addresses, amounts, and associated metadata processed through our x402 implementation.
3. Usage Terms
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Attempt to bypass any security features of the Service
- Use the Service for any fraudulent or unauthorized purpose
4. Service Features
Meridian Protocol provides the following core services:
- x402 Payment Verification: Cryptographic verification of payment signatures and blockchain transactions
- Payment Settlement: Automated settlement of verified payments on supported blockchain networks
- API Key Management: Secure generation and management of API credentials for developers
- Multi-Network Support: Support for Base, Avalanche, and their respective testnets
- Developer Portal: Web interface for managing integrations and monitoring transactions
- SIWE Authentication: Sign-In with Ethereum for secure wallet-based authentication
5. Data Collection and Privacy
To provide our services, we collect and process the following data:
- Wallet Addresses: Ethereum addresses for authentication and payment processing
- Payment Information: Transaction signatures, amounts, timestamps, and blockchain metadata
- API Usage Data: Request logs, API key usage, and performance metrics
- Session Data: SIWE session information and authentication tokens
- Organization Data: Organization names and associated user accounts
We do not store private keys, seed phrases, or other sensitive cryptographic material. All payment data is processed in accordance with blockchain transparency standards.
6. AI Agent Integration
Users integrating AI agents acknowledge and accept:
- Full responsibility for autonomous agent transactions and their outcomes
- The risks associated with automated payment processing
- The need for proper agent configuration, monitoring, and safeguards
- That transaction failures, delays, or errors may occur
- Compliance with applicable laws regarding automated financial transactions
7. Limitations and Disclaimers
Service Availability: While we strive for high availability, the Service may experience downtime for maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen technical issues.
Blockchain Dependencies: Our Service relies on external blockchain networks. We are not responsible for blockchain network outages, congestion, or failures.
No Financial Advice: Meridian Protocol is a technical infrastructure service. We do not provide financial, investment, or legal advice.
Beta Services: Some features may be in beta or experimental stages. Use of such features is at your own risk.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the Service, email, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law. The Meridian Association is established under Swiss law with its seat in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland.
Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zug, Switzerland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
